Current Series & Ongoing Classes
At Sattva, we are interested in teaching you yoga and mindful movement practices, not "selling" you yoga. So you will notice that each of these offerings is a series of classes intended to serve as a commitment--for you to show up, breathe, learn and integrate what your teacher is offering. Each series has its own teacher, so if you try one series of yoga, and it doesn't stick, feel free to come back to learn from one of our other many experienced, talented instructors.
You must register in advance for any series you plan to take, so please click the "register here" button for the series you're interested in learning, and register through Gymatch. If you have questions, feel free to email the teacher listed next to the event.

Sri HWL Poonja once said that "Meditation is when the mind is free and not holding thoughts. Let the thoughts come and go but do not run after them." Each session is intended to bring you out of your thoughts and into yourself, whether through use of breath, mantra, simple guidance, or silence. No experience is required. Come as you are, and be ready to look within.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga classes are characterized by precision in alignment, the timing in and sequencing of postures, and the creative use of props. Developed by B.K.S. Iyengar during his more than 75 years of teaching, Iyengar Yoga is grounded in the ancient Indian tradition and philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. What Iyengar Yoga offers is a systematic and intelligent progression of study to develop each student’s skills and abilities.
Mr. Iyengar’s highly-developed teaching methodology encompasses clear demonstration of the asanas (postures), precise use of language, in both Sanskrit and English, as well as specific instructions to develop students’ understanding and integration of correct actions in practice. Clarifying corrections, modifications and / or alternative poses, based on observing students individually, are also offered when needed.
Classes focus on both strength and flexibility, balance and correct body alignment. Iyengar classes also cultivate concentration and “meditation in action” to bring about total alignment in body, mind and spirit. The transformative effects of Iyengar Yoga are profound, including bodily health and vitality, mental clarity and an overwhelming sense of well-being.

Qigong 4 Well-Being
Meditation
Sunday, April 12th | 11AM-11:30AM | Pay what you want
Meditation is a key component of Qigong, along with movement and healing sounds, that contributes to whole body wellness. This ½ hour monthly meditation class, sometimes seated and sometimes a standing moving meditation, is an invitation to experience this aspect of Qigong, and perhaps will inspire you to explore more of the experience of Qigong. Even most standing movements, however, can be experienced while seated. This class is also an opportunity to meet members of the Sattva Yoga York Qigong 4 Well-Being community, and talk with them about their ongoing Qigong experiences.
If you're new to Qigong 4 Well-Being with Tammy, you have two options for trying it out. Option A) come to any of our Qigong Meditations, offered monthly, or Option B) join Qigong 4 Well-Being 2-Part Intro Series. Membership is required for active participation. You will be sent the links for membership at the completion of your intro course.

Yin Yoga with Megan
Saturday, April 18th | 8:45AM-10AM | $25 | Adults only
Join Megan Grandinetti for this monthly Yin Yoga class to take 75 minutes for yourself to slow down, rest in your body, and rest in yourself. All genders, all bodies, all levels welcome.
Yin Yoga is an amazing tool for slowing down the body. To feel the benefits of movement with less trying, less exertion. To feel our bones and connective tissue not just as the things that hold us together, but as the elements that keep our bodies stable and grounded. It brings suppleness & fluidity to the body by targeting the joints, fascia, and connective tissue to allow for deep release.
Yin asks us to move INward. Toward ourselves, toward a deeper knowing of our bodies, beyond a superficial understanding. We hold poses for longer periods (2-5 minutes), allowing time and gravity to do the work instead of trying to accomplish great feats with our muscles. We find our appropriate edge in the pose where our body can hold without much effort and with perhaps some discomfort but no sharp pain. And we find stillness in the body, and through stillness in the body, find the stillness that we naturally are.
Ashtanga Foundations: A 4-Week Beginner Course
Tuesday & Thursdays | 7:30am-8:30am | Starting May 5th, 2026 May 5th, 8th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 21st, 26th & 28th
$160 for the 8-part series
This 4-week Ashtanga Yoga foundation course is built for people who feel stiff, overwhelmed, out of routine, or simply ready for something more grounded. You don’t need experience or flexibility. You just need a willingness to begin.
Over four weeks, you’ll learn how to breathe in a steady, calming way, how to support your body with strength instead of force, and how to focus your mind so you feel less scattered. Each week follows a simple rhythm:
-
Tuesdays (Guided Class): Learn step-by-step with Megan leading you through breathwork, a short talk on yoga philosophy, and a full Ashtanga practice so you understand what you’re doing and why
-
Thursdays (Mysore Style): Practice at your own pace in a quiet room while Megan works with you one-on-one—helping you build confidence, refine your movements, and make the practice your own
This is for you if you’re new to yoga, feeling disconnected from your body, or burned out from doing too much, too fast. It’s for anyone who wants strength, flexibility, and calm without pressure.
If anyone is financially unable to pay the full amount, please write to me privately and we can make concessions.
