Yoga & Mindful Movement

At Sattva, we are interested in teaching you yoga and mindful movement practices, not "selling" you yoga. So you will notice that each of these offerings is a series of classes intended to serve as a commitment--for you to show up, breathe, learn and integrate what your teacher is offering. Each series has its own teacher, so if you try one series of yoga, and it doesn't stick, feel free to come back to learn from one of our other many experienced, talented instructors. You must register in advance for any series you plan to take--click the "register here" button for the series you're interested in learning, and register through Gymatch. If you have questions, feel free to email the teacher listed next to the event.

Iyengar Yoga classes are characterized by precision in alignment, the timing in and sequencing of postures, and the creative use of props. Developed by B.K.S. Iyengar during his more than 75 years of teaching, Iyengar Yoga is grounded in the ancient Indian tradition and philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. What Iyengar Yoga offers is a systematic and intelligent progression of study to develop each student’s skills and abilities. Mr. Iyengar’s highly-developed teaching methodology encompasses clear demonstration of the asanas (postures), precise use of language, in both Sanskrit and English, as well as specific instructions to develop students’ understanding and integration of correct actions in practice. Clarifying corrections, modifications and / or alternative poses, based on observing students individually, are also offered when needed. Classes focus on both strength and flexibility, balance and correct body alignment. Iyengar classes also cultivate concentration and “meditation in action” to bring about total alignment in body, mind and spirit. The transformative effects of Iyengar Yoga are profound, including bodily health and vitality, mental clarity and an overwhelming sense of well-being.

Bhagavad Gita Study Group

Mondays in January & February
January 12, 19 and 26 and Feb 2, 2026

6:00pm-7:00pm

$5-$25 per class (suggested $10)

Each week, the Bhagavad Gita study group and sangha gathers in a spirit of reflection, community, and devotion. Together, participants explore the timeless wisdom of the Gita, reading verses and discussing their relevance to daily life, spiritual growth, and self-understanding. The gatherings typically begin with a short meditation or chanting to center the mind, followed by group study and open-hearted dialogue that welcomes diverse perspectives and insights. Beyond intellectual study, the sangha provides a supportive space for cultivating inner peace, compassion, and mindful living—nurturing both individual transformation and a shared sense of spiritual fellowship.

You don't have to have read the Bhagavad Gita to attend these groups. It helps, but you can also just come and absorb the teachings of one of the most seminal yogic texts. Please bring yourself and an open heart.
