"Sattva" means the quality of purity or goodness. Sattva Center for Meditation & Yoga is a place for calm & tranquility. A place where laughter is often heard, intermixed with breath and movement. A place for meditation and contemplation for seekers of Truth. A place for Being.
Our Core Offerings

Ashtanga
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, physically demanding style linking breath (Pranayama) with specific, flowing sequences of postures (Asanas) to build internal heat, strength, and flexibility, based on Patanjali's eight limbs (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi) for physical and mental purification.
Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Chinese system combining slow movements, deep breathing, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body's vital energy (qi), promoting physical, mental, and spiritual health by improving energy flow and reducing stagnation, often used for stress relief, chronic conditions, and general wellness.

Practice at Sattva

Current Series & Ongoing Classes
We regularly offer Yin Yoga, classic meditation classes, and specialized weekly series led by our experienced local teachers. Topics shift seasonally, from foundations and alignment work to breath, stillness, and deeper study, while the intention remains the same: consistent, supportive practice. These classes are a welcoming entry point for anyone exploring yoga in York or looking to return to a steady rhythm.
Workshops & Special Events
In addition to our ongoing yoga classes, Sattva hosts workshops and special events throughout the year. These offerings may include extended practice sessions, guest teachers, in-depth study, meditation intensives, and seasonal gatherings. Each event is designed to create space for deeper learning and community.
One on One Services
For those seeking more personalized guidance, Sattva offers private yoga and meditation sessions, one-on-one Qigong practice, burnout and wellness coaching, corporate wellness programs, and Grounding Psoas Bodywork. These sessions are designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re refining your practice, navigating stress, or seeking deeper nervous system support.

Sattva's Founder and Ashtanga Teacher
Meet Megan Grandinetti
Megan is the founder of Sattva Center for Meditation & Yoga and has been a dedicated practitioner of yoga for over 20 years, teaching since 2013. Her path led her from a former law career into deep study of Ashtanga Yoga, meditation, and body-based healing practices.
Sattva was born from a clear vision: to create a space rooted in sincerity, breath, and steady practice — a place for those seeking depth, not performance. Inspired by her teachers and grounded in daily practice, Megan offers Ashtanga Yoga, pranayama, Yin Yoga, meditation, and bodywork as pathways toward clarity and inner steadiness. Sattva is her offering — a space to return to yourself.
