Embodied Dance Classes at Sattva
A somatic movement practice focused on how movement feels rather than how it looks.
What is Embodied Dance?
Embodied Dance, at its core, is a guided movement practice designed to help you shake off your day, regulate your nervous system, and express the truth you’ve been carrying inside your body. Open to movers of all ages and experience levels, this class combines somatic warming practices, body mechanics for comfortable expression, and free-flow movement meditations with guided prompts.
Meet your Instructor, Mia Becker, M.S.
Mia Becker is a somatic therapist, coach, and certified Somatic Stress Release Practitioner who helps people pick up their body-led compass and listen to its direction. Her work is informed by a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, partner dance, and over five years of facilitating somatic group experiences.
Mia’s gentle guidance creates a welcoming, judgment-free space where participants can slow down, trust their inner knowing, and reconnect with their authentic self-expression.

Common Questions about Embodied Dance
-
Not at all. This class is open to dancers and dance-curious beginners alike. There is no choreography to learn and no pressure to move a certain way.
-
That is completely welcome. You will receive gentle prompts to help you connect with how movement feels rather than how it looks. You are always invited to participate at your own pace and comfort level.
-
No. This is a guided, personal movement experience—not a performance. You are encouraged to focus inward on your own body, senses, and unique expression.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Bring water and any layers or supportive items that help you feel comfortable in the space.
-
You are always encouraged to listen to your body, modify movements, rest, or participate while seated. The goal is to build a responsive, caring relationship with your body—never to push past your limits.
