Somatic Saturdays at Sattva

Do you remember what it is like to play? To make silly sounds and move your body in different ways just because it feels good? That’s what Somatic Saturdays are for.

What is Somatic Saturday?

There is no typical session for Somatic Saturdays. The whole point is to play and explore the body and movement. We meet each Saturday with an inquiry: what are we looking to experience today? From there, we move through it, play with it, and see where we go, following intuition and the prompts our bodies give us.

Meet your Ashtanga Teacher, Megan Grandinetti

Megan first encountered Ashtanga Yoga in 2013, and she immediately knew she had found her path. She began her training in 2014 in New York before returning to York, PA, where she connected with teachers heavily influenced by Nancy Gilgoff—one of Pattabhi Jois's first Western students. Megan spent years learning from Nancy across Bali, Maui, New York, Pennsylvania, and Berlin until Nancy's passing.

In 2021, Megan met Angela Jamison and continues to study with her today. Angela, like Nancy, embodies the Ashtanga practice and shares it exactly as her teacher (Sharath Jois) taught her. Megan feels profoundly blessed to call Angela her teacher, mentor, and friend, and she brings this same reverence for the lineage to every student she teaches at Sattva.
