Yin Yoga

Yin asks us to move INward. Toward ourselves, toward a deeper knowing of our bodies, beyond a superficial understanding. We hold poses for longer periods (2-5 minutes), allowing time and gravity to do the work instead of trying to accomplish great feats with our muscles.

We find our appropriate edge in the pose where our body can hold without much effort and with perhaps some discomfort but no sharp pain. And we find stillness in the body, and through stillness in the body, find the stillness that we naturally are.

Yin Yoga is about slowing down, resting, settling into our bones. It's about a depth of being that comes with stillness. It's about rest and rejuvenation. It's about you. All bodies, all levels welcome.
